Education:
I earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Minnesota State University, Mankato. Most recently, I completed my Master’s Degree in Clinical Psychology with a specialization in Clinical Counseling from Capella University. I completed my practicum at Five Rivers Mental Health Clinic prior to joining the team as a full-time provider. I am currently working towards completing the state required supervisory hours needed in order to apply for licensure as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
Therapeutic Approach and Philosophy:
I believe that therapy should be a collaborative relationship and expect that clients will actively participate in the therapeutic process. My approach is direct and focuses on using cognitive-behavioral therapy strategies during sessions to help clients recognize cognitive distortions and assist with reframing those in a way that is adaptive and healthy.
Experience:
I have experience working with children, adolescents, and adults with various mental health disorders. These include but are not limited to, anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, ADHD, and conduct disorder. I also have experience providing services that utilize Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies and techniques.
