Nicole Olsen is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Licensed School Counselor. She believes therapy is a collaborative effort and encourages clients to be equal partners in the therapeutic process. Nicole utilizes a strengths-based approach that centers each client as the expert of their own lives. She seeks to enhance clients’ level of motivation for personal growth and change through the use of cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, dialectical behavioral, and acceptance & commitment treatment approaches.
She received her Master degree in professional school counseling (K-12) from Minnesota State University, Mankato in 2014. Nicole specializes in the treatment of trauma and is driven to help anyone who is struggling with depression, anxiety, low self-worth, poor body image, unhealthy relationships with food, or trauma-related issues. Nicole enjoys working with adolescents and adults and has experience providing crisis intervention and working collaboratively with clients and their loved ones to address mental health concerns. Nicole lives with her partner and their two black labs. She likes to run and walk on the many local trails in town, play volleyball, attend live music events, and read.
One specialty treatment Nicole provides is Accelerated Resolution Therapy (A.R.T). A.R.T. is an innovative eye-movement therapy designed to decrease the emotional reactivity and distressing symptoms experienced following a traumatic event.
