Five Rivers COVID Response & Protection Policy

We know there is concern as the impact of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve. Ensuring the health and well-being of our clients and staff is our top priority. We are closely monitoring updates from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and responding as information becomes available.

In effort to keep our clients and staff safe, our main office closed to the public effective Monday, March 23rd. Our administrative staff are available by phone to schedule appointments, answer questions about billing, or address records requests.

Five Rivers Mental Health Clinic currently offers telehealth care for our clients. Telehealth care is psychotherapy or behavioral services conducted by video and audio. If you are interested in telehealth care services, please call our office at 507-345-7012.

Five Rivers is committed to providing a safe and healthy environment for clients and staff. To ensure that, we have developed the following Preparedness Policy in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

SCREENING MEASURES

Please wait to come into the office until no more than five minutes before your appointment. If you are experiencing any of the following, please call 507-345-7012 to reschedule your appointment from home or your car.
  • Fever
  • Cough or shortness of breath, new or worsening in the last 3 weeks
  • Sore throat
  • Chills and shaking
  • Full body muscle aches
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • New or worsening headaches
Our staff also are screened for symptoms and a fever when they report to work.

Limiting family members

Only one family member or caregiver can accompany a client, and only when one is needed. The caregiver must not be showing any of the symptoms listed above. We are asking that families wait in their cars during appointments or leave and come back to minimize contact in the waiting area.

Hygiene

All clients must wash their hands immediately upon entering the facility using the restroom closest to the front desk. We also have hand-sanitizer dispensers by the front window that can be used for hand hygiene in place of soap and water if hands are not visibly soiled. Please cover your mouth and nose with your sleeve or a tissue when coughing or sneezing and avoid touching your face. Please dispose of tissues in the trash and wash or sanitize their hands immediately afterward.

Facemasks

Staff and client are wearing masks in our clinic. Please wear a mask from home or our staff will provide you with a mask. We are asking clients to wear masks to protect themselves and to protect our employees from possible virus transmission. Please stay at least six feet away from all other clients and staff.

Lobbies

Our lobbies are redesigned for social distancing and windows at the front desk have been installed. We are checking in patients and taking payments over the phone and online so you may skip check-in and provider will come to the lobby to get you. Paperwork can be submitted through our secure online portal.

Cleaning

We have ramped up our efforts to ensure that when you come to the clinic it is clean and safe. We appreciate your help in keeping things clean by not touching items unnecessarily.

Telehealth

Telehealth visits are a great option for many clients. Please discuss with your provider whether a face-to-face or telehealth visit would work best for you.

Our main office is located 1650 Madison Ave. Suite 102, Mankato MN 56001.

Satellite Offices

Five Rivers Mental Health Clinic offers mental health services at satellite offices located in other community settings. All appointments are scheduled through our main office in Mankato, MN.
